(President , the Korean Orthopaedic Association)

Greetings to our esteemed advisory committee, association executives, and KOA members. It is with profound honor and humility that I address you today as the newly appointed President of the Korean Orthopaedic Association, an institution with a distinguished history of excellence and innovation in the field of orthopaedics.

Taking on the mantle of President is a significant responsibility, one that I approach with great dedication and a vision for the future. Over the past year, I have closely observed and learned from the exemplary leadership of our past Presidents, and I am committed to building upon their remarkable achievements. My goal is to continue the progress initiated by the previous administration, focusing on key areas such as digitalizing our association's systems, improving policies related to residents, enhancing medical fees, and furthering the internationalization of our association.

Our commitment to promoting academic activities and research cannot be overstated. The decline in these activities directly impacts the very essence of our association, and thus, we must strive to support and advance research and clinical activities at every level. Despite the challenging healthcare environment, we will endeavor to keep our academic pursuits vibrant and ensure that our association remains at the forefront of international orthopaedic research and practice.

Additionally, we will intensify our public relations efforts to strengthen our connections with the government and the public, thereby elevating the status of orthopaedics. We will proactively address other significant challenges, including the transition to higher-level general hospital structures, the unilateral determination of resident quotas by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the reclassification of essential medical conditions, and the establishment of equitable medical insurance fee policies. Through organic cooperation with affiliated societies and related associations, we will skillfully navigate these challenges, ensuring that our collective voice is heard and our interests are represented.

The road ahead is fraught with challenges that will test the resilience and ingenuity of our association. However, I am confident that with the unwavering support and active participation of our members, we can overcome these obstacles. I pledge to work in close collaboration with Director Han Seung-bum and Secretary-General Kim Sang-min, dedicating our best efforts to the advancement of our association.

Your interest and involvement are vital to our success. The guidance and encouragement of our advisory committee will be instrumental as we unite in our efforts to elevate the status of the association. Together, let us seize this opportunity to transform challenges into milestones and ensure that this period becomes a pivotal moment for the mutual development of all members.

Thank you for your continued dedication and support. Let us move forward with confidence, unity, and a shared vision for the future of the Korean Orthopaedic Association.
